funfetti monkey bread muffins

If you’re looking for a sweet little treat that’s just as fun to make as it is to eat, these funfetti monkey breads are IT. They’re soft, doughy, cinnamon-sugar coated, and topped with the cutest glaze and sprinkles. Basically, if monkey bread and birthday cake had a baby, this would be it.

What I love most about this recipe is how easy it is. We’re using Greek yogurt and self-rising flour to make a quick dough (no yeast, no waiting), and baking them in muffin tins so everyone gets their own mini version. Perfect for parties, brunches, or just a random Tuesday when you want something sweet and happy.

Making Funfetti Monkey Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners or give it a good spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Make the dough:
In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. The dough will look shaggy and clumpy at first—totally normal! Keep mixing until it comes together. A mixer with a dough hook works great here if you have one. Once smooth, stir in the sprinkles (the more, the better!).

Form dough balls:
Roll the dough into small balls, about ½ to 1 inch in size. You’ll get quite a few! Place them on a baking sheet or into a large bowl.

Add the cinnamon sugar:
Mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Lightly spray your dough balls with cooking spray so the sugar sticks, then toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until they’re coated all over.

Assemble & bake:
Add about 5 dough balls into each muffin cup—no need to be perfect. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Glaze and decorate:
Mix together powdered sugar and milk to create a simple glaze. Drizzle it over each mini monkey bread while warm, then top with extra sprinkles (because of course you do). Let them set for a few minutes, then dig in!
