high protein queso dip

I know that cottage cheese is having a moment right now, and this recipe is no exception (sorry!). This high protein queso dip is so simple and tastes amazing, and we all have cottage cheese to thank for that. This dip is creamy, velvety, cheesy, and has that classic queso flavor that we all know and love. I add in chunks of tomato and chiles as well and it makes it so good!

I serve this queso with homemade tortilla chips (just cut up tortillas, spray with oil, and air fry until crispy), veggies, etc. I also love to put this on eggs with some salsa for a delicious, high protein breakfast. My husband has been putting it on burrito bowls because it gives a great flavor and texture while also adding a protein boost. No matter how you queso, you’re sure to love it!

Making high protein queso dip

This recipe is so simple and doesn’t require any real cooking (you’re welcome!). Just blend, mix, heat (if desired), and enjoy! To make it, you’ll need:

  • cottage cheese (if you’re following WW, you can use fat free, or you can use a low fat 1% or 2% to make it a bit creamier)
  • cheese of choice (if following WW, use a low fat or fat free cheddar, if not, this is really good with shredded sharp cheddar)
  • taco seasoning
  • canned tomato with chili, drained
  • pickled jalapenos, diced (optional, if you like heat)

Add your cheese and cottage cheese into a blender and blend until completely smooth. Add tomato, diced jalapeno, and taco seasoning and mix. Adjust seasoning according to your taste preference (if you want more taco seasoning, salt, etc). I personally like this dip cold, but if you want it heated up, just microwave it in 30 second intervals, stirring in between so it doesn’t separate. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Enjoy!
