I know they’re kind of a regional thing, but man oh man do I love a good hoagie. Whether you call it a hoagie, a sub, or a grinder, I think we can all agree that it’s delicious. Italian hoagies are some of my favorite, loaded with meats, cheese, banana peppers, and veggies, all in a red wine vinaigrette. I managed to take all of those flavors and turn it into a lower carb version with this Italian hoagie chopped salad that I think you’re going to love!

Making Chopped Italian Hoagie Salad

Crafting this Chopped Italian Hoagie Salad is simple yet the end result is a complex mix of flavors that you’re sure to love. Picture a medley of crisp, shredded iceberg lettuce forming the foundation of our salad. But this isn’t just any salad – it’s an Italian hoagie reimagined into a fresh, satisfying ensemble.

Imagine the flavors as thin provolone slices intertwine with the salty essence of turkey pepperoni and the hearty presence of chopped ham. These ingredients form the heart of the salad, providing layers of tastes that mimic the indulgence of an Italian hoagie. Adding a touch of zest to this dish is the chopped banana peppers, which infuse a delightful kick that complements the salad, as well as fresh tomatoes and red onion.

Now, let’s talk about the dressing that ties it all together. A blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar, and Italian seasoning creates a balanced and aromatic dressing that enlivens every ingredient. A hint of powdered confectioners sugar replacement adds just the right amount of sweetness to counterbalance the tanginess of the vinegar.

To create this marvelous salad, simply toss together the iceberg lettuce, provolone, turkey pepperoni, ham, tomato, onion and banana peppers in a bowl. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss again to ensure every bite is coated.

The beauty of this Chopped Italian Hoagie Salad lies not just in its vibrant tastes, but also in its compatibility with your Weight Watchers journey. As you relish the textures and savor the medley of flavors, rejoice in the fact that each delightful serving is only 5 points (for 2 cups). Store any leftover salad and dressing separately in airtight containers in the fridge and combine when ready to eat. Enjoy!
