creamy jalapeno avocado sauce

I actually created this sauce by accident many, many years ago. I had some avocados that were super ripe and a bunch of leftover ingredients from taco night so I started blending them all together in hopes of creating something tasty. This Avocado Jalapeno Aioli is EPIC, y’all. It’s got big flavor, a gloriously creamy texture, and just a hint of heat.

It’s easy to make (literally chop, blend, enjoy), keeps well in the fridge for a few days, and is good on just about anything. I like to put it on tacos, on eggs, on wraps/sandwiches, and more. It’s also totally paleo (and Whole30 friendly), gluten free, dairy free, and dang delicious.

Making Avocado Jalapeno Aioli

This recipe is crazy simple. You’ll just prep your produce (peel your avocado, de-seed your jalapeno, etc), toss it all in the blender, and blend until smooth. To make this super sauce, you’ll need:

  • avocado, nice and ripe
  • jalapeno, seeds removed
  • the juice of one lime
  • 3 tbsp mayo of choice (paleo mayo if paleo, light mayo if following WW, etc)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • fresh garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Blend it all up until you have a smooth, creamy sauce. Give it a taste and adjust accordingly – you can add more jalapeno or a dash of hot sauce if you want to bump up the heat. You can add some chili lime seasoning for a tasty, different flavor profile. More avocado oil will make this runnier so you can use it as a salad dressing. The possibilities are endless!

Store sauce is an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
