A few weeks ago, I was in Cape May NJ and tried an amazing smoked fish dip. It made for a perfect easy lunch throughout the week, which inspired me to try to make my own. That’s how this creamy smoked salmon dip was born! The combination of creamy, tangy, and savory flavors with that perfect hint of everything bagel seasoning creates a dip that feels fancy but comes together in just minutes. It’s become my go-to for everything from casual get-togethers to weekly meal prep, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

Making Creamy Smoked Salmon Dip
This dip couldn’t be easier to make, which is why it’s perfect for last-minute entertaining or when you want something delicious without much effort. The key is starting with quality smoked salmon and making sure your cream cheese is properly softened for the smoothest texture.
First, you’ll combine your softened cream cheese with Greek yogurt and light sour cream until smooth and uniform. The Greek yogurt adds a wonderful tanginess while keeping the dip lighter than using all cream cheese. Next, you’ll add the flavor builders – vinegar, capers, Worcestershire sauce, fresh lemon juice, and Dijon mustard – which create layers of savory depth that complement the salmon perfectly.

When chopping your salmon, aim for small pieces that will distribute evenly throughout the dip. I like to reserve a small amount to sprinkle on top for presentation. The fresh dill is non-negotiable here—it adds that classic pairing with salmon that makes this dip truly special. And the everything bagel seasoning? That’s my secret weapon, tying all the flavors together with its perfect blend of sesame, poppy, garlic, and salt.
While you can serve this immediately, I highly recommend letting it chill for at least 40 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. This dip is incredibly versatile – serve it with cucumber slices and bell peppers for a lighter option, or go all out with bagel chips, crostini, or even warm pita triangles. It also makes a fantastic spread for bagels the next morning if you happen to have leftovers.
