The big game is right around the corner, and that means SNACKS! These Healthy Pizza Pinwheels are one of my favorite snacks I’ve ever made – and that’s saying a lot. They’re perfectly chewy, cheesy, salty – they’re literally a pepperoni pizza rolled into a perfect little bun. They’re easy to make, great for a crowd, and you can customize them with whatever toppings and fillings you like. The best part? They’re better for you. Made with two ingredient dough, which is essentially magic, these are WW friendly and delicious.
Making Healthy Pizza Pinwheels
These may look like intricate little buns, but they’re pretty easy to put together. This recipe is best made in a square baking dish (8×8 or 9×9), as it will yield 12 pinwheels. Other than that, you’ll just need a mixing bowl, cutting board, and some utensils.
To make these, you’ll need:
Dough:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup nonfat greek yogurt (I use Fage 0%)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp italian seasoning
- 1 egg
For the delicious pizza filling, you’ll need:
Filling:
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1.5 cups shredded light mozzarella (or cheese of choice)
- 1 tbsp parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
- 1 cup chopped or whole pepperoni (approx 22 pieces)
First, mix all of your dough ingredients, ideally using a stand mixer + dough hook (or use a wooden spoon, but the dough is sticky). Flour a surface well (I use a silicone baking mat) and roll the rough out into a rectangle (roughly 12×16 inches. In another small bowl, mix cheese and sauce, then spread over the dough, leaving about an inch uncovered on the long edge thats further from you. Sprinkle with parmesan, basil, and layer pepperoni on top, as above.
Starting at the long edge closest to you, carefully begin to roll the dough up and away from you toward the uncovered edge. Roll it all the way up, leave the seam side down. Cut into 12 pinwheels and arrange in a well-sprayed baking dish. Spray tops with cooking spray and bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven, finish with a bit of parmesan and chopped basil, and enjoy!

What a fun spin on pizza! I loved this version of “2 ingredient dough” it was so easy to work with and the added spices gave it a nice flavor. I personally would maybe use a larger pan than 8×8, maybe my 7×11 but they were delicious, and reheated nicely in the air fryer.
So glad you liked these! Air fryer is my favorite way to reheat them as well 🙂
My family loooved these! Thank you so much for this fun and healthy take on pizza! I’m going to make these for Super Bowl!
So glad you enjoyed these! A perfect snack for the big game 🙂
These pizza pinwheels were so easy and delicious to make! I used mozzarella instead of Parmesan because that’s what I had on hand and they turned out so well! Will be making for all future football sundays.
So glad you loved these! They’re a football Sunday staple in our home for sure 🙂
Made these for the Super Bowl and they turned out so good! Really easy and so versatile. Might try Italian turkey sausage next time. My whole family loved them, and a great after school snack for my son too!
So glad these were a hit! 🙂
