As I was looking through my pantry recently, I spotted a bag of apple chips I’d picked up on my last grocery run. That’s when inspiration struck! I’d seen those viral charcuterie chips all over TikTok and Instagram, where people transform simple chips into elevated bites with gourmet toppings. Why not create my own version with apple chips? These charcuterie apple chips were born, and they were the first thing to disappear at the party. The combination of sweet apple, salty prosciutto, and sharp cheddar with that kick of hot honey creates the perfect bite that hits all your taste buds at once. The best part? They take just 10 minutes from start to finish, making them ideal for last-minute entertaining or a quick snack when you’re craving something special.
Making Charcuterie Apple Chips
These charcuterie apple chips couldn’t be easier to make, which is why they’ve become my go-to for impromptu gatherings or when I need a quick appetizer that still feels special.

First, you’ll want to arrange your store-bought apple chips in a single layer on your air fryer tray. I recommend using apple chips, where the only ingredient is apples, with no added sugars or preservatives. If you don’t have an air fryer, don’t worry! These work just as well in a regular oven on a lined baking sheet.
Next comes the cheese – I use sharp cheddar because it provides the perfect savory contrast to the sweet apples, but feel free to experiment with other cheeses like gruyere or even a mild blue cheese if you’re feeling adventurous. Grate it fresh for the best melt and flavor.
The prosciutto adds that perfect salty, crispy element that makes these chips irresistible. Just tear it into small pieces and scatter it over the cheese. When it cooks, it gets wonderfully crisp and intensifies in flavor.
After just 5 minutes in the air fryer at 325°F, the cheese will be perfectly melted and the prosciutto crispy. The final touch is what makes these truly special – a light drizzle of hot honey and a sprinkle of flaked sea salt. The combination of sweet, heat, and salt elevates these simple ingredients into something that tastes like it took much more effort than it actually did.
These are best served immediately while still warm, but honestly, they’re delicious at room temperature too. If you’re making them for a party, you can prepare multiple batches quickly as needed. Enjoy!
