These cookies are chewy and soft, bursting with flavors of creamy, rich chocolate and tart cherries, making for a KILLER flavor combo. The base is a super soft oatmeal cookie, which could be adapted to be eaten plain, or with other tasty mix ins (nuts, dried fruits, etc).

* 1 cup (125 grams) all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* Pinch of salt
* 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1/4 cup granulated sugar
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1 and 1/4 cups oats
* 3/4 cup dried cherries, cut up
* 1/2 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. Cream softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar, then add vanilla, egg, and combine
3. Whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, oats, salt
4. Slowly add dry ingredients into wet and combine thoroughly
5. Fold in cherries and chocolate chips
6. Roll cookie dough into ~1 inch balls, put onto a prepared baking sheet, and press down with your hand or back of a spatula, flattening them about half way
7. Bake for 14-16 minutes for chewy cookies, enjoy!
