Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Frying Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 2 cups broccoli steamed
  • 2 cups rice cooked
Firecracker Sauce
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened ketchup
  • 2 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar seasoned
  • 1 Tsp ginger fresh grated
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar replacement or sub honey, sugar, etc
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 1 tbsp sriracha less if you don’t like spice
  • 1 Tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 Tsp corn starch + 1/2 tsp water

Instructions

  • Prepare rice and broccoli and set aside.
  • In a frying pan over medium heat, add a bit of oil or cooking spray and add ground turkey. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and break up into crumbles. Cook thoroughly until no pink remains.
  • In a small saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients (minus cornstarch mixture) over medium heat and mix to combine. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes, then add corn starch slurry and mix in well to thicken the sauce. Remove from heat, pour sauce over ground turkey and toss to coat.
  • Build each bowl by adding 1/2 cup rice, 1/2 cup broccoli, and topping with 1/4 of the turkey mixture. Enjoy!
